I had the opportunity to attend a workshop on women’s role in science and innovation organized by UNESCO in Nairobi. It was a meaningful space for learning, reflection, and honest conversations about the place of women in STEM.

The discussions highlighted both progress and the gaps that still exist. Many women shared their experiences navigating challenges in research, leadership, and innovation, which made the conversations both real and relatable.
One key takeaway was the importance of creating supportive systems, mentorship, and equal opportunities. Empowering women in science is not just about access, but also about recognition and growth.

I left the workshop feeling inspired and reminded of the value of community, collaboration, and continued advocacy for women in science.
