Africa Science Leadership Program in Pretoria, SA

In December, 2023 I had an opportunity to attend Africa Science Leadership Program (ASLP) which is a new initiative of the University of Pretoria and the Global Young Academy, with the support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The program brought together mid-career African academics in the areas of thought leadership, team management and research development, with the intention of enabling to contribute to the development of a new paradigm for science in African, focused on its contribution to solving the complex issues facing both Africa and the global community.

Grow Further Agricultural Research Grant

In November 2023, I was honored to be announced among the two winners of the Agricultural Research Grants from the Grow Further organization. The call was highly competitive, attracting more than 700 applications from researchers around the world, and only two proposals were selected for funding based on their potential to make a significant impact in smallholder agriculture.

STI Capacity Building Programme on Female Researchers and Entrepreneurs in Bangkok

In August, 2023 I had an opportunity to attend STI Capacity Building Programme on Female Researchers and Entrepreneurs to Promote the Bio-Circular Green Economic (BCG) Model in Bangkok, Thailand. The programme was organized by the United Nations with the aim of building capacity of female researchers and entrepreneurs across the world. In this interactive capacity building programme to promote green economy, I learnt different measures to keep the planet safe for the healthy future.

Mandela Washington Fellowship in USA

From June to August, 2023 I had an opportunity to attend Mandela Washington Fellowship in University of Georgia, United States of America (USA). The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). The fellowship brought together outstanding young leaders from different part of Sub-Saharan Africa. I was very grateful to learn from other leaders and exchange my leadership skills with others, participated in academic program, community activities and family visit.
